General Chat

Postby AcidDragon » Fri Feb 13, 2015 1:22 am

Hey everyone.

I've decided to create a General Chat thread and see how it goes. The same rules that apply to all other threads apply to this so keep it clean and civil. No religion. No politics. No hate speech or racist jokes. No porn. Basically this list. Please don't use this to call each other out on things. Work things out via PMs.

Discuss your day, chat about what you're eating, a new haircut, your new T-shirt or just say hi. :batshock: :wwsmh:

I have a cold now.

But yesterday, I got the 10th Anniversary Spawn figure I ordered--picked it up from the PO and now having a grand ol time posing/playing with this thing.

And I have a cold now.

And I have a storyboard to ( TRY to) finish today, and another one on my desk that I SHOULD have started yesterday.

But I have a cold now.

I'm looking forward to the Toy Fair reveals over the next few days--hoping there will be good stuff this year.

I said, I have a cold, right? Just checking.

Hey Ken. Hope you recover from your cold! I'm just getting over one myself. :pasad: I was at a Medi Centre a week ago for something unrelated and there was a little girl there who was coughing and I kept thinking to myself, "Please stay away." lol. She was running around and sure enough I'm pretty sure I caught it from her. :wwsmh:

That's pretty good for a BD, Web.

Hey Ken. Any chance we can sneak a peek at your storyboard in progress or is that a strictly for industry's eyes only sort of deal?

P.S. That Spawn figure looks dope. By the looks of it way out of my price range... What's the cape made out of? It looks like it could be posed from the box art.

I have imbibed cold medicine, sucked on a lozenge or three, smeared vapour rub on my chest to envelope me in a halo of menthol stink.
Oh, and I have given said cold my unreserved, remorseless spite and venom.
I might even ambush it with hot chicken soup, and may even escalate to adding in some garlic.

There are no Marquis de Queensbury rules with head colds.

So send the kid back my way and I'll give the cold BACK TO HER! ;)

The 'board in progress........well, what can I show? It's the "origin" of one of the characters in Don't Feed the Humans and......well, there's a sex scene.

I could show you that.....Or could I? Should I? The naughty scenes are risqué, but not revealing. There's safety blurs for any naughty bits, but still.........there wouldn't be any context without reading the script. The drawings are somewhat rougher than what you have seen of my work here, and as the panels are not as-yet approved, I have no idea if they'll even use the shots I've drawn.
Let me know.......I could probably sneak in a jpeg or three.

On Spawn, niiiice figure, I read a tip on how to get the stand to avoid sagging and so far it's working. Nice POAs on the figure, but clearly it's McFarlane Toys doing things it's own way. It's like trying to be Marvel Legends but NOT be Marvel Legends.
The cape is a heavy vinyl/rubbery plastic, but is moveable, not really poseable.
It's segregated all over so it can drape in certain ways. Think of a segmented Doctor Strange cape ( from Marvel Legends) in feel/texture. The cross/steeple stand is really neat, and it is not sagging as many have reported. I think though, it's going to end up being a home for a ML Daredevil figure before long. It IS a pricey figure, but it's one I've long wanted, and didn't want to wait any longer for. Spawn though.......is out of scale with ML--he's taller by about an inch, but that is another McFarlane Toys thing.

If the site admins give me the green-light, I will post. I don't want to violate any posting policies or rules.

And don't worry, the shots are not pornographic in nature, just suggestive.
Here's the scenario: it's a flashback/origin episode for the hick/red-neck rocker Earl. He huffs a marker and "accidentally" has sex with his bandmate's girl. His bandmate drives up , and chases Earl off. Earl runs off into the woods and gets abducted by aliens, ends up at the alien zoo. If you've see the You-tube web-series for Don't Feed The Humans, you can get the gist of the show, and it's humour.
