Hi Gang!

Does anyone live in San Diego that could do one of two things for me?

1) advice on inexpensive (as possible) rooms to stay in over comic-con week?

2) be willing to put myself and a friend up in their treehouse/garage/basement (we'd pay you of course, or mow the lawn and other chores) over the week?

I know this is a difficult question to answer, since we are friends on here, but have never met and I can completely understand the awkwardness.

Please let me know if you can; this will be the hardest hurdle to jump...I'm just trying all my options

We honeymooned in San Diego eight years ago and the place was pretty cheap and close to the ocean, but damn if I remember the name of the place. I just booked it on orbitz or something. Good luck.

Accommodation prices jack up greatly for SDCC, especially in city confines. The closer to the convention centre, the higher the rack rate gets.
Seriously, the best advice I can give-short of someone offering a place to crash-- is to consult a travel agent about what's available. They would have access to info on rooms in hotels, motels and hostels--and might cut out a lot of headaches.
And don't dawdle on this either. The convention is so big that most places sell-out of room months beforehand.

This is one of the main reasons why I moved to San Diego, so that I don't have to worry about hotel prices being jacked up when Comic-Con is here.
