An observation:
In Star Trek, the various characters played roles that made the ensemble whole.

Kirk was the spine, the core of courage.
McCoy was the humanity, the principles and the conscience.
Scotty was the work ethic, and the passion. The sense of humour.
Uhura was the diligence, the professionalism, and the artistry.
Chapel was the vulnerability, the gentleness.
Sulu was focus and energy.
Chekhov was naivete and innocence.

Spock was the soul.

I can only imagine what an afternoon lunch with Leonard Nimoy would have been like....transcendent? I always enjoyed him as Spock, he will be missed by many.

It is a shame he is now gone:( I find it amazing that his last major roles were in Fringe, a Transformer movie and even Star Trek!!!!!!
