Kevin Conroy, the prolific voice actor who defined Batman for generations of audiences, has died. He was 66. The actor died Thursday, Warner Bros. announced.

Conroy voice starred in the acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series from 1992-96, and continued on with the role through nearly 60 different productions spanning 15 films and 400 episodes of television as well as video games. In recent years, he was a fixture on the comic convention circuit.

You will be missed my friend...

I found out earlier on. This is so very sad. I got to meet him at a con and he's such a nice guy. Just one of the nicest people I met. In a strange coincidence, I just brought out Mask of the Phantasm to watch with my partner last night as she had never seen it before. Just shocking.

R.I.P., Batman. Your iconic voice will live on forever.

He had a great voice and was the cornerstone of the animated series...he will be missed
