John Wesley Shipp, tv's Barry Allen from the 1990-1991 Flash tv series has signed on for a recurring role on the CW's upcoming Flash tv series. :bafspaz:

His character has yet to be named; since the CW doesn't really care too much about comic continuity, I'd love to see Shipp as Jay Garrick in a mentor-type role.

I just saw this too..I agree he should be Jay! But as you said, they'll probably just make him the guy who serves Barry his hamburgers or pizza

The Flash is here, ladies and gentlemen. Get your first look at Grant Gustin in costume as The Flash for The CW's new pilot about the Scarlett Speedster.
In the pilot, Gustin plays the DC Comics character Barry Allen, a scientist who is given super speed after a freak accident. Gustin played the character on The CW's Arrow opposite Stephen Amell. "He comes in and he kills it. He's wonderful," Amell said of Gustin in November. "He really takes ownership of the role. Just in terms of adding dynamic elements to the show, Grant is a really, really welcome and needed addition because he's so good."

This is an awesome look...wish they kept the "ear covers" but as I understood from an earlier report, his suit will change as the show does.

Okay I love this. I'm so glad they kept the full skullcap and all and didn't do a Kid Flash sort of deal.
