NBC Passes On Constantine Season 2, Warner Bros. Looking For New Home 23

NBC has declined to renew Constantine for a second season…but the show isn’t quite dead yet.

Executive Producer Daniel Cerone broke the news via Twitter, but says that Warner Bros. is still shopping the series around in hopes of finding it a new home.

While the show never drew a huge audience in its difficult Friday night timeslot, where it was meant to serve as a companion piece to Grimm, the adaptation of the popular DC Comics character has found a cult following that is still hoping to #SaveConstantine.

"Passes on Season 2." Fantastic euphemism. :jclol:

Also, this really didn't need a new thread.

Supremely bummed on this news...I really liked this show and hope someone else picks it up; all they have to do is get over some hurdles and they'll be set

Never felt like an NBC show even if they have similar shows on now. I think somewhere like FX, AMC, or even an HBO or Showtime would be a better fit. It got a little better as the season went on but never felt like must watch TV for me. I did enjoy the final few episodes more.

Long Shot - For Constantine Fans

CW is thinking of having a one-shot (or a two-parter) of Constantine to be part of ARROW and even The Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, was seemingly on board for a crossover between the two properties before NBC swung the ax.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

I think that the show could be move to Netflix ... and it's a long shot that CW might pick it up and Stephen Amell is trying his best to get CW to consider Constantine later on. I can see Constantine moving to CW as a potential late night addition - for example having the show on 11PM and/or Midnight might work for die-hard Constantine Fans.

I'm guessing that this show is getting some attention to and I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this.

Good. Now in another ten years maybe somebody can start off fresh and do it right this time.
