I agree. They seem to be doing this more and more now like in the Nolan Batmans with "Robin" at the end which was dorky and the Talia al Ghul/Bane twist and Wolverine with Silver Samurai.

The Nolan Batman movies didn't bother me. I liked the Talia aspect. Robin was also kind of nice. I guess, the difference with those incidents was that . . . they tried to keep me from seeing it coming? Where as Iron Man 3 led me down a road I thought I knew the way to, and then tricked me. It would be sort of like if Nolan made a movie about Riddler and then you find out that the whole character has been made up by Clayface or something. Iron Man 3 led me to believe that the Mandarin would be used and it was a complete red herring. What Nolan did was ok because I could still piece together where he used the comics and altered it, but still kept the spirit of things (to me anyway).

I know! I really felt so tricked. It was kind of like paying money to see your favorite band play (let's say the Beatles for example) and then the Monkeys show up. I thought it took real nerve to pull that move. I felt like the writer was laughing at Iron Man fans while taking delight in their displeasure.

Lol, and it sucked so bad because the 1st have of the movie, the Mandarin was the best part. I guess I wouldnt have been so bummed if he wasnt so sweet.

Besides wasting Mandarin, IM3 just tried too hard to be funny. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be a buddy cop flick or as sci-fi adventure, I was just bored through most of it even more so than Green Lantern.

Well aside from me thinking "Robin's" appearance was cheesy, I didn't think everything else was lame. I was just saying that it seems to be the thing to do now to change it up in comic book movies to throw fans a curve ball these days. I guess depending on how they do it, the greater fanbase either accepts or condemns it. I thought the whole Mandarin thing was cheese, though, but I didn't really love the film itself either. :smwink:

Awesome thread concept... for me it was when Deathstroke killed Ryan Choi. It was so gruesome and I liked poor Ryan!! When Pym bit Blob's head off for eating Janet. When Dr. Light was caught with teens who he dressed up as the Titans and Spectre turns him into a candle and kills him. When Superboy goes nuts and kills a bunch of titans. You guys listed a few that I would have, too.
