Hey everyone, what did you get? Anything cool? I got myself a new TV and a Denon Home Theatre and a bunch of games that were marked down by 50%.

I picked up a Galaxy S4 at Best Buy...FOR FREE! Seriously, I told myself that I wasn't going to buy one, but free? I couldn't pass that up. Normally I'd launch into some hipster speech about the evils of Black Friday stealing the thunder of spending time with family and friends, but c'mon. Honestly, being able to score nice stuff for super-cheap is a pretty awesome perk to America's obsession with commercialism. No way I can afford a phone as nice as the S4 on my own. Thanks, Best Buy!

Also, this is the only time of year I buy Blu-Rays and DVD's, unless I find something rare / special (like the Universal Monster Legacies) at a used store. So I splurged and spent about $150 on cheap movies. And now I get to laugh at all of my friends who dropped $25-30 on The Dark Knight Rises. Because $4, guys.

Got Pacific Rim, The Conjuring, 21 Jump Street, Argo, Star Trek Into Darkness, Ted, The Bourne Identity, Dredd, Predators, Chronicle, HP7, Goldeneye, Fast Five, Life of Pi, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember. Plus seasons of Grimm, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, and American Horror Story. I feel kind of bad...all that, and the only movie my wife grabbed was The Heat. Meanwhile, here I am with my three armfuls...

I ordered a whole bunch of CD's and shirts from Relapse Records with their site-wide 20% off sale. I also used Amazon's book promo and free Prime trial to pick up books by F. Paul Wilson, Joe R. Lansdale, Dan Simmons, and Robert McCammon. I went to exactly one store on Friday, a grocery store, to buy cat food. Because of the frenzied masses with their overflowing carts, I was through the vacant express line in no time. I generally avoid retail outlets on the day after Thanksgiving in much the same way I avoid used syringes.
