I had him sign my GL 76 cuz it can only help the value of the condition of this book...

Here's a close-up...

I got in line as soon as the doors opened and it was for a total of 2 hours (time well spent). Before the signing, Stan did a photo op (for $80 each) and according to the girlfriend of the guy in line ahead of me, she was escorted behind a screen, told to stand right next to him, was told not to touch him (she also didn't say anything either), took the pic (thankfully the pic was a decent one, where she had her eyes open and smiled, cuz no retakes!) and was escorted out. Glad I didn't do that option!!!

He got over to the signing area at 11:30, waved to the cheers from the fans, sat down and started signing. $60 for comics or 8x10's; $75 for larger or magazines; and $80 for large items or props (some guys and their Cap shields or Spidey masks signed)...

I finally got up there and they had 3 people at a time to stand in front of the table and he signed in an assembly line approach; you hand your item (out of its wrapper or case) to the guy, guy slides it in front of Stan, Stan signs it and passes it to the girl on his right who hands it back to you.

Most people seemed either scared or too in awe to say anything but I sure wasn't one of those...I thanked him for his efforts and being one of the reasons why this is happening. He thanked me and said "you're very welcome, it was my pleasure" and he even took a mili-second to look up at me...

I feel bad for him, in the way where I'd bet he'd rather spend a few seconds with the fans and say hi rather than being carted around like an old piece of jerky...not sure if it was the con or Stan with the rules, but it wasn't as personal as you'd hope; but worth the price, considering I've received a couple hundred valued autographs for free, this is one I was justified to pay for.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, this is the Golden Records reprint from the 60's; not the actual number 1....

I also got autographs from Lee Bermejo on his JOKER and BATMAN:NOEL graphic novels, he was a very nice guy and was doing a lot of commissions but still had time to shake hands and chat for a while, which I very much appreciated.

I also got REVIVAL's Mike Norton's sig but couldn't get Tim Seeley's due to him being off on panels and signing in other areas, not to mention being overrun by commissions; a bummer but there's always next year

Normally me too Hector...but it was Stan so I'd do what I have to do. It did kind of throw the rest of the off for me as far as con-going goes...but I still had a great time
