Love the eyes, love all the goopy feel to it (and excellently smooth finish to that), but I especially love the face in general, right down to the comic-matching mouth. While I'm not familiar with Sludge, I do love to see how close of a feel some customs can get to their comic (or film) counterparts.

Sgt. Slaughter is an absolute BEAST among the Joe’s…he certainly demands a presence; superbly done my friend!

Though I have no clue who Sludge is, that is one impressive figure you put together; to get that melted cake look to look as beautiful as you did, absolutely incredible!

Thanks guys

Sludge was a ton of work every piece of him has sculpt work on it, but I was super pleased with how it turned out. And I was really happy with how Sgt Slaughter turned out as well. After seeing how small the Valaverse ones were I had to make larger than life Sunbow cartoon style Sarge for my Classified collection.

Shocker

Postby 1987olds442 » Wed Apr 13, 2022 9:06 pm

After getting the retro carded Shocker I wasn't happy with the paint or lack thereof. The pale mustard yellow wasn't to my liking either. For a solution I applied a testors mahogany wash to the yellow areas which I used to fill in the quilted lines, and it had the added benefit of tinting the yellow to a more pleasing color. I also applied a black wash to the brown areas of the costume.

King Sphinx

Postby 1987olds442 » Wed Apr 13, 2022 9:10 pm

Power Rangers Lightning Collection King Sphinx repaint. I bought this on clearance a while back for possible fodder, but I thought the sculpt was really good... so I decided to paint one up, and after a little paint work he's much more show accurate.

Abomination

Postby 1987olds442 » Wed May 11, 2022 11:37 am

I wanted a bigger comic style Abomination I was never happy with the size of the comic Abomination BAF. So I decided to use my extra Gamerverse Abomination BAF as the base for a better comic style version. I bought a casting of the comic Abomination BAF head and fitted it to the Gamerverse body, and then painted up both the head and body. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. And now I have a bigger and badder looking Abomination.

Gosh Olds, your figures look really good. I wasn't familiar with Sludge and can tell how hard it was to do. Great job! Your Shocker is really cool too and so is your Sphinx but the Abomination is just awesome looking. Superb work & stuff there Olds

You did a really nice job on the Rangers and Shocker figs but that Abomination is a great idea! He now looks much more formidable….just sad he’s missing his WWE power trunks, now him and Hulk shop at the same store.

Oh yeah and the pic of the 2 Abominations together looks like the shorter one is his grandpa haha

Lord Pumpkin

Postby 1987olds442 » Mon Aug 15, 2022 7:00 pm

This is my latest custom Lord Pumpkin from Malibu Comics: Ultraverse. The head from bigheadstudioscustoms in which I installed a magnetically switched LED light. The body is a McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse The Joker: The Criminal. I embedded a magnet in the back of the figure to help secure the cape and store the magnet that is used to turn on the LED light. I also modified some of the articulation to add more range of motion to the figure. I modified the diaphram joints and hips on the figure. Finially the head and figure got a full paint job with washes and dry brushing to add some depth to the look of the figure.
