It Conquered the World was great one. There was many movies like then then. There's some more movies I went to get to while I'm on this row. Here's 1953's The Robe :!:

It stars Victor Mature as Demetrius. The scene where

Richard Burton & Jean Simmons.

Jay Robinson plays a Caesar that was unintentionally hilarious and nuts :!:

Michael Rennie from The Day the Earth Stood Still is here...

and so is Dean Jagger :!:

Ah, 61's Gorgo. that was such a great Kaiju movie. Gorgo was arguably the one that started the Kaihu craze again because there was a small hiatus. When that came out then starting the next year in 62, Kaiju films would make their return starting with 62's King Kong vs. Godzilla. Once I get going with My Classic Kajiu Topic again (I'm really behind on it) I will spotlight that one. How about that, the Curious Dr. Humpp, that was also something else. The 50s & 60s was truly the time of monsters & epics.

Well, here's the sequel called Demetrius and the Gladiators. This was still during the time when Hollywood didn't waste time making sequels as this continues right after where The Robe left off as it shows how it ended and all that.

Victor Mature and Micheal Rennie reprise their roles from the first movie.

Mature was very good. Such a shame how guys like him are hardly spoken about now :roll:

Jay Robinson as Caligula is even more insane here. Barry Jones is also.

Susan Hayward is here...

so is Anne Bancroft...

and also appearing is Debra Paget.

A young & brutish Ernest Borgnine is here and so is William Marshall.

This also has great visuals.

The Gladiator scenes are quite good. I love the Tigers :!:

Yes, Predator: Badlands. They just revelaed the trailer the other day. I was going to post that My AvPvT Topic but just haven't yet. There's a ton of stuff about this which you may not know but if you loo really close & study the trailer then you may see the crazy things about it. This movie is going to be awesome. The animated movie looks to be good and there's more Alien Earth too. Look for a big update in My Topic about the details soon :blmm:

OK, well here's one you may not be familiar with but I'm sure you know this cast. This next entry is before Indiana Jones was searching for the Holy Grail aka the Chalice of Christ in 89's The Last Crusade...this epic came out in 1954 and it's called The Silver Chalice :!:

The movie stars PAUL NEWMAN is his DEBUT role

Virginia Mayo is the co-star.

Also in the movie is Pier Angeli.

And a very young Natalie Wood :!:

Jack Palance is really radical here as Simon the Magician in one of his best roles :!:

OK, here is 1961's Barabbas :!:

It stars Anthony Quinn as the titled character whom was seen in The King of Kings & The Passion of the Christ. the Mob wanted him free so Jesus could be crusified and Barabbas is haunted by this and goes thru a lot of torture through the film

There's a ton of stuff here including great Gladiator scenes.

Jack Palance is awesome in this one too :!:

Ernest Borgnine is is this one as well :shock:

THE SHARON TATE is in a blink and you'll miss here as part of the mob :!:

We saw EdTV in the theater. I remember liking it enough that we bought a used copy of it from Blockbuster during one of their sales though I can't say I ever watched it again. Nor am I really familiar with all those old gladiator films. Just honestly not a genre I ever got into.

I never seen The Last Picture Show. That's great especially since you got it from Blockbuster

I love Gladiator stuff in movies, it's very thrilling. Most of today's sports are in stadiums like wrestling, boxing and even hockey. Look at Vinnie Mac's Titan Sports & Wrestling at the Coliseum for an example

OK, next up is David & Bathsheba from 1951. This is the one that tells the story of King David :!:

It stars Gregory Peck & Susan Hayward as the titled characters

Lithuanian Pro Wrestler Walter Talun, a SEVEN-FOOT TWO giant plays GOLIATH :!:

There is very little info & stuff about him online which is such a shame. Before you see the trailer, here's this special video of this giant promoting the movie that I'm sure you never knew about.
