I really liked how she turned out, and I should have some new pictures of her maybe tomorrow. I repainted her skin-tone areas to add a little more detail to those areas, and touched up the black on her costume.

I've found that label paper can come in pretty handy for things like logos. That is how I made the bat logo on my first two Red Hood figures. I used several layers of label sheets and carefully cut out the logo and glued them in place.

Thank you very much For that blue it was a learning experience. It's a testor's enamel metallic blue. I know you are not normally suppose to use enamels on soft plastics, but I found if you use an acrylic base coat (in which I used a Blue base) the enamel drys without any tackiness issues. For Cyke's piping details it was all done with a fine brush, and keeping my hand very steady.

Namor V1.5
Like my Wonder Man this is another rebuild of one of my older customs. I've started going back to revisit a few of my older customs. Originally I used the arms from the ML Series 2 Namor which I finally decided were too scrawny for this body. I swapped them out with a bigger more ripped set of arms from a WWE elite figure, and made new arm bands with thin strips of styrene. I also shortened the upper part of the lower legs by cutting them in half, removing some of the material, and gluing them back together to make him a little shorter. I also repainted this face, hair, belt, new arms, and a little extra touching up.

Next up is my DCUC/ML style Silver Sufer. I started with a DCUC Wave 7 Aquaman main body, Eclipso's biceps & open hand, and a modded Golden Pharaoh's head and fist. I sanded down the costume lines on the upper legs and waist, and filled in the peg holes for a smooth look, and installed magnets in the feet to stand on the board. For the paint I used Dupli-Color silver for the base than a light coat of Dupli-Color Metalcast ground coat which gave it a nice metal flake look and finally cleared it with Dupli-Color Top Coat.

That is marvelous. I was gonna ask what head you used - great choice. So is that the Toy Biz board?

Thanks It is indeed the toybiz board repainted with the same paint that I used on the Surfer. I actually need to take some more pictures for a new turn around shot. If you notice on the rear shot the right leg knee joint is a little out of alignment. I used a hairdryer to heat the joint to push back into place, so it is all good now

I get my Testors paints from a local hobby shop, but I buy my Dupli-Color paints and top coats at auto parts stores.

Yeah, I just looked it up, the Dupli-Color is spray paint, huh? You are brave, sir.

Gotta find a Hobby Shop. I just buy the cheapest paints at the Art Store, but I think I may have to start branching out. Thanks.

Yep the Dupli-Color is automotive grade spray paint. It works great on soft plastics, so no worries about the paint not drying and staying tacky. I've been using the stuff for over a decade starting back in my model building days. Another good thing about it it's hard to mess up it never leaves runs in the pant, and drys very fast. The metallic red on Adam Warlock is Dupli-Color as well

Wonder Man V2

After revamping my Wonder Man another collector contacted me about making one for him. On this Wonder Man I wanted to try something a little different with the "W" emblem on his chest and back. Instead of having it flat painted or raised I made it where the "W" is sunk in with a reversed embossed look. I also sculpted the collar, re-sculpted top of the lower legs, and filled in all the peg holes. The belt is made from a rubber band, and the arm band and belt buckle are made with styrene. The body is a WWE elite figure and the Aquaman head is a casting from casting cave. Finally I finished him up with a full paint job.










Oh here is a quick updated I decided to make two alternative heads from him.
